CNC PROGRAMMER/OPERATOR and/or MANUAL LATHE OPERATOR

 Our well established Manufacturing client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERSin search an experienced CNC Programmer/Operator AND/OR a Manual Lathe Operator for this Full-Time Career position.

Our client would like a CNC Programmer/Operator who also has experience as a Manual Lathe Operator, but will consider experience with one or the other if candidates do not have both.


SALARY -

  • CNC Programmer/Operator - $18.00 - $25.00/hr
  • Manual Lathe Operator - $16.00 - $22.00/hr

LOCATION - ModestoHOURS - Monday - Friday, 6:00a.m. to 2:30p.m.


DUTIES FOR EACH POSITION:

CNC Programmer/Operator

  • Develop NC code for 3-axis machining centers and 2-axis turning centers using CAM software.
  • Develop new programs and enhance existing programs to improve productivity.
  • Add operator notes to describe and error-proof the NC programs.
  • Output electronic NC data through a post-processor.
  • Evaluate the G-code program to ensure the G-code matches the graphics program.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds and cut depths to achieve best metal removal rates.
  • Work with machinists to proof NC programs and modify machining parameters to optimize metal removal and maximize tool life.
  • Develop rigid work-holding techniques to optimize machining and quick change setups on short machine runs.
  • Provide setup sheets and tool lists for machinists that are clear and consistent.
  • Prepare sheets to specify stock material type and dimensions, work and tool offsets, and fixturing.
  • Set up information depicted pictorially using CAD.
  • Maintain tool lists that specify cutter geometry, material, coating, holder type and protrusion (stick out).
  • Develop master parametric models for multiple configuration products.
  • Develop standard tooling database to ensure consistent, repeatable NC programs.
  • Develop standard work and tool offsets to minimize set-up time and manufacturing variances.
  • Develop materials database to calculate speeds and feeds accurately and consistently.
  • Review Engineering CAD drawings for programming and manufacturability.


Manual Lathe Operator

  • Fabricate metal objects through the set-up and operation of manual mills, lathes, drill presses and similar equipment.
  • Select and utilize required tooling and fixturing.
  • Determine cutting speeds and feeds.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery.
  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
  • Maintain and secure work tools.
  • Clean and maintain work area.
  • Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
  • Assist lower level machinists in performing tasks.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service to departments.
  • Clean and prepare drums and roll-on pad yokes for padding.
  • Apply new pad material to roll-on pads and vacuum drums.
