CAD MANAGER

Our very well established client with an excellent reputation in their industry is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search of an experienced CAD Manager for this IMMEDIATE DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY.


SALARY: $65-75K DOE

LOCATION: Modesto

HOURS: Monday - Friday, 7:00/8:00 am to 4:00/5:00 pm, however, based on the needs of the job, work hours may vary.


The CAD Manager is responsible for the technical and implementation source of BIM (Building Information Modeling) for assigned projects. Directs activities in assigned areas including implementation, integration, design interface, design quality and identification of potential interferences, liabilities and/or concerns.
 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for construction projects.
  • Using computer aided software including, but not limited to, REVIT® and AutoCAD, render 3D modeling’s of refrigeration and piping systems.
  • Troubleshoot and address issues with CAD and Revit models and project files.
  • Produce drawings/projects consistent with instruction, guidelines and CAD/BIM standards.
  • Assist with review of BIM models for coordination using Revit and Navisworks.
  • Assist with management of CAD/Revit files and projects.
  • Operate computer software as necessary to effectively create charts, forms, and records as required for specific project needs.
  • Communicate effectively with appropriate parties (Pre-Construction Manager, PM’s, Foreman, etc.,) in order to accomplish tasks.
  • Meet project milestone and deliverable dates.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Advanced knowledge of 3D/4D/5D BIM and of appropriate platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, AutoCAD MEP, etc. 
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction of buildings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and requirements.
  • Willingness to learn new software, ideas and concepts.


REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree or Certification in Drafting/Design, AutoCAD OR equivalent combination of education, technical training such as completion of an Electrician Apprenticeship Program, and/or related experience in the electrical contractor or comparable industry.
  • 4-7 years relevant work experience with increasing responsibilities.

Our very well established client with an excellent reputation in their industry is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search of an experienced CAD Drafter for this IMMEDIATE DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY.


SALARY: $25.00 – 30.00/hr

LOCATION: Modesto or Fresno

HOURS: Monday - Friday, 7:00/8:00 am to 4:00/5:00 pm


The CAD Drafter works in support of the Quality Assurance/Purchasing Manager, Project Engineers, Project Managers and Superintendents to assist with construction project drawings. Also plays a central role in maintaining open communication and partnerships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and all team members.  


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate drawings
  • Lay out drawing set
  • Prepare as-built package
  • Update drafting log
  • Assists the engineer in providing:

  1. Concept Drawings for quoting projects
  2. Developing Drawing Package for Permit and Construction purposes
  3. Updating and/or tracking changes to the Drawing Package during Construction
  4. Developing any detail drawings required for construction
  5. Finalizing the Drawing Package and P&ID’s when the Project is complete for the manuals and RMP/PSM purposes
  6. Developing and Finalizing the Equipment and Valve schedule that accompanies the P&ID’s
  7. Ordering valve tags and line labels

  • Provide quality control in order to find and solve issues before they become liabilities
  • Responsible for working with design team to creating drawing sets of all types
  • Create Drawings that ensure projects are built to all governing codes and standards
  • Maintain and provide information to clients, engineers and construction teams, ensuring job progress
  • Organize and store job information in such a way that protects company’s interest and provides easy access
  • Assist design team with calculations and piping practices information
  • Assist sales team with Job estimation to provide knowledge of standards and piping practices
  • Make decisions based on customer needs, desires and expectations and on company standards, and maintain free-flowing information and cooperation between customer and project team  
  • Track time spent on Project and abide by approved budgets


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Extensive knowledge of piping practices and standards
  • Become fluent in Microsoft Project and all other computer programs and applications
  • Ability to operate general office equipment (Computer, printer, fax, copier, mailing center, etc.
  • Associates Degree OR an industry standard certificate in drafting from an accredited educational institute preferred
  • 5 years experience within the industry

Our client will consider hiring a Temp Electrical Drafter, with a possibility of moving into a Full Time Mechanical Drafter position if experienced in BOTH ~~ OR ~~ will hire a separate Temp Electrical Drafter ANDa separate Full Time Mechanical Drafter.

~~ MECHANICAL DRAFTER - Job Description ~~


This position requires a person trained in mechanical drafting who is also willing to learn machine component design as well as documentation and quality control. Creates drawings, maintains and compiles bills of materials, machine files and prepares supporting documentation including manuals. Creates and organizes digital documentation. Confers with Sales and Engineering to facilitate transforming sales orders and information into engineering parts releases to meet project timelines. Trains and works with the Quality Manager to inspect machine components including operating direct computer controlled CMM.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred candidates will have a 2-year certificate in mechanical drafting or closely related field. Experience will be accepted in lieu of education.
  • 3-5 years of experience minimum is required.
  • Must be willing to learn documentation and quality control.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Solid organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills, articulate, team player, and dependable.
  • Self-starter, able to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy/efficiency.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

~~ ELECTRICAL DRAFTER - Job Description ~~


Under the direction of senior engineers, performs all phases of electrical panel assembly design, layout, wiring schematics, selection and documentation for all components.  Designs, builds, supports, maintains and documents electrical assemblies.  Assists in establishing and maintaining documented procedures for revision control of new and existing electrical assemblies, schematics and software.  Verification of safety compliance with applicable codes and standards, component selection for safety compliance and providing risk assessments.


DUTIES

  • Under the direction of Senior Engineers, designs electrical systems, creates schematics, creates panel layout drawings, and develops electrical BOMs.
  • Maintains effective cooperation between engineering and manufacturing.
  • Develops and maintains drawing revision records and current directory of code installed on machines to facilitate ease of location and analysis.
  • Maintains, organizes, and manages Engineering project files and software. Ensures that user systems are up to date with latest software revisions.
  • Disseminates accurate and consistent information externally to customers as required and internally within company.
  • Follows detailed instructions; meets production goals and completes work according to standard procedures on assignments from engineering department.
  • Handles daily operations and manages document files in hard copy/electronic form.
  • Primary hands-on electrical technician for Electrical Engineering projects.  This includes point-to-point wiring, debugging, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Acts as a primary resource for Production personnel in relation to wiring systems and control panels, as well as supporting the build of control systems. 
  • Creates prints for other departments upon request.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • An Associate’s degree in a technical field is a plus.
  • Four or more years of experience with PLCs, Servos, VFDs, HMI, and other electrical control componentry.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex wiring systems.
  • Ability to work in teams with all levels of personnel.
  • Solid organizational and planning skills. Must be able to pay attention to detail.
  • Self-starter, dependable, able to work in a fast paced environment with accuracy/efficiency.
  • Strong communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with CAD applications including AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Computer literate:  spreadsheets, database and word processing.
