SR. ESTIMATOR - Commercial Construction

This position requires 5 Years of Commercial Construction background, proficiency in utilizing a Computer and Microsoft Office Suite.

JOB DESCRIPTION / SKILLS:

  • Estimator will generate and manage commercial estimates required for sales, pre-construction and bidding efforts. 
  • Provide estimates, budget control and studies for projects and potential projects during business development, pre-construction and construction phases of a project, knowledge of all scopes, systems, and assemblies. 
  • Estimates vary from design-build, guarantee maximum price estimates, to stipulated sum bids. 
  • Ability to complete full quantity take-offs to support accurate estimates for all disciplines in commercial and public work projects including, but not limited to civil and site work, structural, concrete, finishes, mechanical, and electrical. 
  • A complete understanding of the interrelationship of the cost of labor, material, equipment, and productivity in the unit costs used at each level of an estimate.
  • A seasoned Project Manager who has fostered lasting relationships with clients/subcontractors/inspectors, etc.  
  • Experience having overseen projects of 1-15 million and have working knowledge with reading drawings, drafting, RFI’s, change orders, identify potential exposures and/or risk involved while staying on schedule so projects are completed timely.  
  • The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of construction methods, provide a purposed construction schedule, processes and management practices; excellent analytical and problem solving skills; good communication skills; and be organized, efficient and responsive to the needs of internal and external clients alike.


Estimators are expected to:

  • Manage entirety of bidding process.
  • Build estimates based on a practical understanding of design, constructability, logistics, sequencing and means and methods of a project.
  • Be a key collaborator for new and existing subcontractor relationships for estimating, bidding and project award.
  • Prepare estimate presentations, special studies, budget control reports and estimating documents for projects and client presentations.
  • Understanding of market labor, and commodity conditions and impacts on construction costs.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs, variance and maintain quantity controls.
  • Proficient on a computer and utilizing Microsoft Office Suite

The Microbiology Manager is responsible for developing test protocols and procedures focused on the growth, structure and development. The position oversees microbiology laboratories in 4 locations that verify process controls and product quality. Fermentation, storage and bottling are critical operations the microbiology team monitors. The Microbiology Manager must be capable of troubleshooting and conducting research and development for various departments.


Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement food safety and process standards – FSMA, GFSI, HACCP, HARPC
  • Provide fermentation support during the harvest (starters, primary and secondary)
  • Monitor finished product quality
  • Provide sanitation support to bottling and cellar departments
  • Troubleshoot microbiological issues for the cellar, production departments
  • Monitor and improve the environmental monitoring program

Job Summary

Well established Food Processing client is seeking an experienced Sanitation / Operations Supervisor for this Excellent DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY. This position is responsible to clean and supervise the cleaning of equipment, holding tanks, floors, empty bins and water pipes by performing the following duties.  Under the direction of Director of Quality, directs day-to-day activities of the Sanitation department employees.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sanitation

  • Oversees the sanitation operations for the facility.
  • Verifies that sanitation is complete and acceptable each day prior to production.
  • Conducts swabbing and inspections to verify that sanitation is acceptable.
  • Reviews and analyzes USDA sanitation sheets to determine causes of nonconformity and corrective actions.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of sanitation operations.
  • Develops cleaning schedules and crewing.
  • Provides leadership and training for sanitation employees.
  • Participates in hiring and review of sanitation employees
  • Orders chemicals and equipment for sanitation operations

Production

  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Revises production schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems.
  • Provides leadership and training to accomplish the production goals and objectives.
  • Review daily and weekly production plans with Production Manager to ensure maximum utilization of resources, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Track labor and raw product yields daily.

  • Assists in training employees, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, safety management and accident investigation, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Oversee production and sanitation personnel to ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.
  • Review labor requirements with Director of Quality. 
  • Ensure production processing lines are always prepared and fully operational. 
  • Ensure all areas are in compliance with sanitation, production and safety processes. Verify accuracy and quality of samples.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, including active participation in the prompt identification and communication of safety hazards.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Immediately report all food safety and food quality problems to supervisor/manager.

Education and/or Training

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Operation Management, Agri-Business, Science or closely related fields a plus.  
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a production environment or combination of education and experience. 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in sanitation operations. Food safety, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and GMP knowledge.

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for reporting to and assisting Project Managers in coordinating the activities of a project to ensure cost, schedule, document control and quality standards are met. Under the direction of the PM, the Assistant Project Manager is expected to take on any/all tasks in the quest to learn all he/she can about construction/fabrication. 1-5 years of construction experience would be a plus!

This Quality Control position is a integral in supporting and executing shop projects efficiently and reviewing construction drawings and specifications to ensure project specific requirements and construction details are followed.


• The Quality Control person conducts QC on layout of beams and parts for fabrication.

• Communicates findings with shop Foreman and or shop lead upon identification of issues to allow for immediate repair.

• Completes reports (written and/or online, as required) documenting conformance of job-specific and standard procedures for product fabrication, installation of materials, and processes to Steel Encounters’ quality standards.

• Review and understand shop drawings, schematics, details, and installation instructions

• Review and understand scope of work and exclusions outlined in the contract and related industry standards.

• Participate in the construction, installation and testing of project mock-ups.

• Demonstrate good judgment in decision-making, input, and issue escalation; facilitate problem solving

• Maintain a report log documenting in writing all quality infractions, corrections and actions taken to resolve the problem.

• File all reports and photo documentation in their respective project folders, dated & clearly labeled following established naming conventions to ease future searches

• Publish and distribute QC reports to the Shop Foreman, Project Manager. 


Requirements:

• Structural Steel/Metal/Construction knowledge and / or experience.

• 1-2 years Quality Assurance/Control experience preferred.

• Experience with CAD software/drawings.

• Basic knowledge of Structural steel layout and welding terminology.

• Adequate computer skills to create and manage spreadsheets, activity tracking, inspection reports etc.

• Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel and Word).

• Effective communication, and strong English writing skills with ability to complete legible, detailed inspection reports.

• Ability to read and understand shop drawings, installation instructions, and architectural documents.

Our very well established and growing Food Processing client is  in search of an experienced Quality Control Technician for IMMEDIATE OPPORTUNITY. This is a Full-Time Temp to Hire need with the possibility of converting to the Company's Payroll!!
 

Hours:

  • Monday-Friday with mandatory Saturdays as needed
  • During Training will work Day Shift - 6:00am-2:30pm for approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
  • Most likely will then be 12 Hour Night Shift - 6:00pm-6:30am, after training. 
  • INCLUDES OVERTIME PAY!


Job Scope:
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for implementing and adhering to the Quality Control program at the manufacturing site. This includes conducting Quality Control checks during production, verifying adherence to the mycotoxin testing protocol, conducting mycotoxin testing, verifying sanitation activities, and other responsibilities as needed.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• As directed and trained, conduct various tests for incoming ingredients, including sieve, NIR, moisture, and mycotoxin testing.
• Routinely check operator paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
• Routinely check label, bags and seals.
• Perform and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Working overtime is MANDATORY and requires full participation.
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in accordance to company policy.
• Perform all functions in accordance with sound safety practices and procedures.
• Report all safety violations and safety hazards to Shift Supervisor/Safety Manager immediately
• Participate in all safety programs


Qualifications:
• Must be computer literate
• Must have ability to accept temporary assignment changes to assist other areas of the plant, maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
• Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of product routinely, and climbing a ladder to maintenance equipment from a catwalk.
• Must maintain assigned portion of master sanitation schedule.
• Must work in a safe, professional manner at all times.
• Must report any accidents, property damage, or near misses to a supervisor immediately.
• Must have the ability to be trained and certified to operate forklifts.
 

Other Qualifications:
• HACCP, GFSI, or SQF certification is a plus.
• Must have excellent communication skills to communicate with other employees and supervisors.
• Flexibility to be available to help cover for other Quality Control employees when called upon.
• Ability to read bin level and work schedule.

Painting and preparing steel for painting and shop custodian.
