SR. ESTIMATOR - Commercial Construction

SALARY - $100-130K

Our well-established Commercial Construction client is  in search of an experienced Commercial Senior Estimator for this IMMEDIATE AND EXCELLENT DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY!


EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Will generate and manage estimates required for sales, pre-construction and bidding efforts.
  • Provide estimates, budget control and studies for projects and potential projects during business development, pre-construction and construction phases of a project and across all scopes, systems, and assemblies. Estimates vary from design build to full guarantee maximum price estimates to lump sum bids.
  • Ability to complete full quantity take-offs to support accurate estimates for all disciplines in commercial and public work projects including, but not limited to civil and site work, structural, concrete, finishes, mechanical, and electrical.
  • A complete understanding of the interrelationship of the cost of labor, material, equipment, and productivity in the unit costs used at each level of an estimate.
  • Collaborate with project manager to develop and maintain pre-construction and construction estimates.
  • Lead project lump sum bidding process.
  • Build estimates based on a practical understanding of design, constructability, logistics, sequencing and means and methods of a project.
  • Estimator will be a key collaborator for new and existing subcontractor relationships for estimating, bidding and project award.
  • Prepare estimate presentations, special studies, budget control reports and estimating documents for projects and client presentations.
  • Understanding of market labor and commodity conditions and impacts on construction costs.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs, variance and maintain quantity controls.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of construction methods, processes and management practices; excellent analytical and problem solving skills; good communication skills; and be organized, efficient and responsive to the needs of internal and external clients alike.

Our very well established and long time Food Processing client is in search of an experienced Maintenance Manager with Food Processing industry experience for this IMMEDIATE DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY! The Maintenance Manager provides leadership and direction to plant maintenance function of a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation. This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, OSHA regulations and applicable laws. May directly supervise employees or supervise through others.


  • Responsible for the overall performance of the plant’s Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the technicians and the department as a whole.
  • Develop and implement the plant’s R&M budget and monitor cost relative to equipment repairs. Assist the Plant Manager in development and implementation of the plant capital budget.
  • Schedule labor to meet plant and equipment requirements while assigning responsibilities and managing and supporting maintenance personnel as needed. Create a spirit of customer service to the entire facility.
  • Diagnose, develop and implement methods and procedures to ensure most effective utilization of resources and provide best service to the facility.
  • Actively participate with operations in plant initiatives. Ensure all mechanical, electrical, electronic and structural repair and improvements are performed to industry standards.
  • Ensure that all utilities (i.e. refrigeration, electrical, steam, compressed air systems, facilities, etc.) are in proper working order to support production. Troubleshoot machinery and process systems in the event of breakdowns.
  • Maintain a system for tracking work orders, preventative and predictive maintenance and parts and equipment inventory.
  • Advise the plant manager on mechanical/downtime issues and their impact on production output.
  • Coordinate with production/packaging supervision any downtime windows for preventative maintenance and repair work.
  • Track downtime to proactively prevent re-occurrence through root cause analysis involving the key players. Implements corrective actions identified by key maintenance performance indicators as a means to create overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Actively participate in plant audits as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with all internal customers and support teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, vendors, consultants, suppliers, support teams and plant personnel.
  • Coordinate activities relative to spare parts inventory and cost to ensure maximum equipment reliability and team productivity.
  • Utilizes a computerized maintenance management system to optimize asset utilization through scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Remains current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to mechanical and electrical systems design and operation.
  • Ensures corporate policies and standards are followed in both capital project implementation as well as daily maintenance.
  • Shares “best practices” within the Maintenance Department.
  • Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating.
  • Provides management of employees directly or through supervisors to ensure effective selection, retention, development, disciplinary action and performance management. If a collective bargaining agreement exists, may participate in negotiations, grievances or other contract related activities and discussions.


Job Requirements

  • Prefer a four-year degree in a related field, and/or equivalent experience in maintenance in the food industry.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a supervisory/management role is preferred.
  • Ability to evaluate maintenance/production/packaging processes and determine the most efficient method of accomplishing goals.
  • Ability to identify, define, and solve problems; lead, influence and inspire people; evaluate and develop employees in order to better utilize the available workforce; and promote quality, safety, and teamwork.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as needed.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Programmable Logic Controllers, Auto Cad Software, & project & manufacturing software.
  • Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills. Strong customer and quality focus.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, and report and follow through on any deficiencies.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; ability to lead others through change.

MICROBIOLOGY MANAGER

Our long-time, well-established and growing Food Manufacturing client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search of an experienced Microbiology Manager for this Excellent DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY!


The Microbiology Manager is responsible for developing test protocols and procedures focused on the growth, structure and development. The position oversees microbiology laboratories in 4 locations that verify process controls and product quality. Fermentation, storage and bottling are critical operations the microbiology team monitors. The Microbiology Manager must be capable of troubleshooting and conducting research and development for various departments.


Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement food safety and process standards – FSMA, GFSI, HACCP, HARPC
  • Provide fermentation support during the harvest (starters, primary and secondary)
  • Monitor finished product quality
  • Provide sanitation support to bottling and cellar departments
  • Troubleshoot microbiological issues for the cellar, production departments
  • Monitor and improve the environmental monitoring program
  • Provide rough ID for microorganisms found in production environments.
  • Oversee verification, calibration routines and maintenance program for laboratory equipment and instruments across all labs
  • Oversee the training and development of microbiology technicians
  • Develop and validate testing methods for raw and finished products
  • Maintain release processes for finished products
  • Support root cause analysis and customer complaint investigations
  • Ensure laboratory operations are executed properly. Functions such as cleaning, organizing, filing of laboratory records, retrieving test results, etc.
  • Ensure all records and documents are complete, legible and accurate, and executed with required information in accordance with company's procedures
  • Contribute to maintenance and improvement of documentation practices.
  • Apply a continuous improvement mindset and contribute to process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure adequate ordering and inventory control for supplies and reagents
  • Monitor plant water testing program
  • Establish and maintain media preparation protocols
  • Serve as a member of the ISO 9001 steering committee


Educational/Experience:

  • Masters preferred, Microbiology, Enology OR equivalent work experience
  • 5 + years of experience in food processing / packaging
  • Experience with food safety standards, such as FSMA, GFSI, HAACP, HARPC
  • Experience in ethanolic fermentations
  • Managerial experience
  • Understanding of microbiology

Our growing Food Processing Client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search of an experienced Quality Control Supervisor / Manager for this IMMEDIATE 4 WEEK TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT!

  • The Quality Control Manager performs functions directed towards successfully and efficiently meeting quality goals for customer orders.
  • This individual is responsible for managing the quality programs and functions of the local facility in compliance with company standards.
  • Includes, but is not limited to ensuring the quality of our production and materials, including training employees on proper procedures and policies.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Life Sciences program a plus, OR 3-5 years of comparable managerial experience in food manufacturing industry and in the areas of Quality Assurance, Research & Development, and/or Technical Services.
  • Requires pest control license/certification and/or sufficient knowledge in the subject.
  • Experience of Quality Control management in food manufacturing or other edible products manufacturing context is necessary,
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, NFPA/AIB, BRC audits and laboratory, sanitation programs and be able to apply these principles to the daily work environment.
