Our well-established and growing manufacturing client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search of an experienced Plant Supervisor with Sanitation Supervisory Experience for this IMMEDIATE DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY!


Salary: $100K to $130K per year DOE, plus Bonus potential

Job Description

Supervising  the hourly production employees on shift in order to meet the safety,  environmental, production, quality, and cost goals of the department, as  well as to meet customer delivery dates. Overseeing employee training,  enforcing all rules, policies and procedures, administering disciplinary  action when required, and verifying/approving work hours and pay rates  utilizing timekeeping systems. The Plant Supervisor is responsible for  the safe and productive operation of the entire plant during the  off-shift hours. They may have to work different shifts, including  overtime, to include weekend work, with their hourly team. They report  directly to the Plant Manager and have full accountability for the  safety, productivity, and quality on their crew.

Job Duties:


Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure all employees are knowledgeable of and adhere to all safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA.
  • Responsible  for assuring that the products produced within each manufacturing  facility are safe and comply with all applicable federal, state, and  international laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Responsible for  compliance with and adherence to all established good manufacturing  practices, food safety plans, and all applicable regulations and  guidelines.
  • Oversee plant cleaning, sanitation, pest control, and GMP compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory product quality standards.

Leadership and Management

  • Direct plant’s daily priorities and activities, giving guidance and direction to technicians.
  • Organize,  manage, and direct the activities of employees assigned on shift to  meet production goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Verify and  approve work hours and pay rates utilizing approved timekeeping  systems.
  • Participate in hiring, training, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Set job expectations and monitor progress by establishing priorities and monitoring progress.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Responsible  for effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and  development. Resolve employee issues through timely and effective  problem resolution. Ensure hourly employees have proper training and  tools to meet department goals.
  • Responsible for handling overtime, holiday, seniority, etc.
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Quality Management

  • Implement  and maintain quality systems that ensure procedures and processes are  in place to provide products that meet manufacturing specifications and  customer requirements.
  • Provide tools for educating team members  on quality standards and specifications for packaging; standardize  quality test procedures and interpretation of results throughout the  division.
  • Lead quality improvement activities within their respective organizations.
  • Involve  team members in continuously improving the quality of our products and  services, and the efficiency of operations and staff activities  throughout the business.

Production and Coordination

  • Meet  production goals by balancing quality, productivity, performance, cost,  safety, environmental, and morale to achieve positive results in all  areas of the department.
  • Work with other departments, shifts, and direct reports to achieve a positive team attitude among crews and peers.
  • Prepare production reports.
  • Check  work areas for safety hazards, communicate the status of orders,  schedule departmental clean-ups, and communicate with Quality Assurance  Manager concerning all issues affecting quality.

Sanitation and Continuous Improvement

  • Oversee training on shift from a sanitation perspective.
  • Monitor and adjust sanitation schedules as necessary.
  • Validate performance of sanitation practices.
  • Assist in cross-training team members to sustain a high level of flexibility within the group.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or engineering/technical degree a plus, OR will consider equivalent      experience.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish a plus, but not a must.
  • 5+ years of production and sanitation experience, with at least 4 years in a food manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge  of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques  for maximizing the effective manufacture of product
  • Knowledge of business and management principles
  • Demonstrated knowledge and high level of computer skill and familiarity
  • Knowledge of Food Safety Requirements

The  Quality Assurance Manager will perform duties which support the  company’s QA and operational key indicators as well as verify all  products to ensure Food Safety, Quality, IFS and SQF standards and  specifications are met. Works directly with manufacturing to schedule  and control inspection activities and to enforce requirements as  specified by raw materials, ingredients, products and packaging  specifications, and regulatory agencies. Reviews documentation for  completeness and accuracy. Initiates corrective action for procedural  product or process deficiencies.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible  for establishing, implementing, and directing quality control and food  safety efforts to ensure that requirements for processing components and  other materials into finished goods and products conform to quality  standards.
  • Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspections, testing, and evaluation.
  • Establish  programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and  testing, measurement and analyze equipment and facility.
  • Optimization of product recipes in order to improve yield and compliance with customer specification.
  • Oversee IFS, SQF and HACCP systems validating testing and assurance compliance.
  • Document quality information and prepare reports and/or manuals.
  • Review production and quality reports on a daily basis being aware of any quality deviation.
  • Follow-up on corrective actions when quality deviation occurs.
  • Participate on projects for continuous improvement.
  • Manages all customer complaints by investigating and follow-up with customers and/or support departments.
  • Set up and maintain the quality assurance systems for proper certification.
  • Support translation of product specifications to appropriate manufacturing documentation.
  • Provide  the means for incorporating the necessary tools, equipment, and methods  into the new and existing processes aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Lead and support the achievement of plant operations food safety and quality goals.
  • Investigate and follow-up corrective actions on product complaints and deviations as well as in process issues.
  • Work collaboratively with members of the production, sanitation, maintenance, shipping and receiving departments to verify SOPs.
  • Maintains Master Sanitation Schedules.
  • Prepares and validates standard operation procedures.
  • Maintains factory allergen and other quality control programs.
  • Coordinates  plant Sanitation/Regulatory/GMP inspection and audit programs. Acts as  main point of contact for 3rd party auditors as well as other  regulators.
  • Coordinates continuous improvement activities to meet the needs of plant as well as customer's needs.
  • Drives an effective corrective action program.
  • Develops  and delivers sanitation, GMP, Pest Control, allergen, Micro, QA and  regulatory training programs in coordination with IFS and SQF standards.
  • Maintains HACCP plan.

Requirements: 

  • 5+ years of Food Safety experience as a Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in Food Science.
  • Ability to work any shift as needed, including irregular shifts or occasional weekends.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and product quality systems.
  • Experience or certification in FSMA, HACCP and IFS or SQF.
  • Food Safety Regulatory experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills including root cause identification and resolution.
  • Proven ability to work with variety of people with differences in communication and learning styles.
  • Ability to set priorities and plan ahead required.

Quality  Control Manager ensures the quality of welds and dimensional accuracy  of work performed by production staff. The QC Manager uses a high degree  of proficiency and utilizes full skills of the trade including  knowledge of codes and standards to verify that the final product is  free of defects and meets the requirements of the contract documents. To  perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform  core responsibility satisfactorily.

Candidate must have 10+ years’ experience as a QC Manager in the structural steel industry, must be AWS certified CWI with proof of certification, have experience with  AISC Audits, be able to coordinate with 3rd party inspectors, perform  dimensional and visual inspections for shop fabrication, be able to  review structural drawings, and create/track in-process non-conformance  reports.


Responsibilities:

  • Check quality on shop floor daily to ensure all product meet contract specifications
  • Track in-process repair, non-conformance, corrective action, and cost of poor quality
  • Submit Weld submittals for new projects
  • Create new weld procedures
  • Ensure received materials, parts, and consumables meet all quality requirements
  • Review Structural drawings and compose Shop RFI’s prior to kick-off meeting
  • Review job specs, notify Purchasing and Project Managers of specific job requirements
  • Set-Up job inspections: get with Shop Foreman to find out what needs to be scheduled
  • Conduct welder qualification testing
  • Record and maintain welder certification logs

MUST HAVE STRUCTURAL STEEL EXPERIENCE


Salary - $80,000 - $83,000 per year DOE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review design drawings for project requirements and provide direction on fabrication preferences.

  • Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure all drawings are sent to Erector in a timely manner
  • Notify Erector of reasoning detailing notes weren’t included (if any)
  • Review  architectural drawings; if they call for areas being ground smooth,  ensure that is included in erection drawings and noted at the specific  area it applies.
  • Create a drawing that shows members and AESS that require to be ground smooth
  • Ensure Detailers issue Erection Drawing within 3 days of last fab release
  • Review all final shop drawings to assure all approval comments were incorporated prior to release top production

Experience

  • 5 to 10 years’ related experience as a BIM/Detailing Manager in the structural steel industry
  • Thorough  knowledge of fabrication, erection standards, and procedures, general  knowledge of AISC standards and AWS codes. Knowledge of Tekla software  is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of structural steel design codes and standards (e.g., AISC, AWS).
  • Understanding of fabrication processes, welding techniques, and erection methods.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on ensuring drawing accuracy and adherence to project requirements.

  • Receive (check-in only) structural steel and other material from trailers.
  • Designated forklift operator will offload material
  • Ensure the PO (receiving list) matches material being offloaded
  • Be sure to sign and date delivery tags before turning into the office
  • Operate 36k forklift in a safe manner
  • Other duties may be assigned
