BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Our well established and growing Food Manufacturing client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in their search for an experienced Business Development Manager for this IMMEDIATE DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY!
 

SALARY - $50-55K + Annual Bonus base on Sales (approx $10-15K potential)

BENEFITS – Medical, Dental, Vision, plus Contribution towards cost for family, Sick Leave, 401K, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability, Paid Holidays, Vacation, etc.

LOCATION – Modesto  

WORK SCHEDULE - Working remotely and on the road - 90% local travel - No Overnight Travel


The Business Development Manager is responsible to develop and maintain sales of all company Brands through all available channels serviced by the distributor network. The ability to manage and build selling relationships with customers and account managers while providing goals and objectives. The Business Development Manager must plan and execute with each customer/distributor. 


Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for achieving annual sales and bunker placements
  • Monitor market conditions, competitors' products, prices, and sales
  • Build relationships and identify the prospect's need for the products or services
  • Acquire new business in assigned territory
  • Small grocery chain stores, c-stores, up and down street business
  • Serve as a brand ambassador in the forefront for company and distributors
  • Track activity, prepare and maintain records for sales leads and account status
  • Sell products and/or services to established customers or develop new prospects within assigned territory
  • Expand brand exposure – upgrade existing accounts
  • Be a liaison with partner distributors and assist in resets, deployment of bunkers, audits, cold calling and customer follow up
  • Will assist Sales Manager in pricing and promotional recommendation, account sales calls and highly visible sales support
  • Ability to present to Retailer Buying Teams
  • Must have experience presenting to groups in a selling environment
  • Ability to create and present PowerPoint presentations 
  • Obtain new business and increase recurring sales though managing the selling process with distributor management 
  • Provide weekly reporting of new account activity 
  • Obtain and provide Competitive Market Intelligence with pricing surveys and store audits 
  • Represent the company at trade shows
  • Follow established documentation processes and guidelines.


Requirements, Qualifications, and Selection Criteria

  • Bilingual in Spanish is A PLUS but not required. 
  • Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience in food industry
  • Self-motivated team player
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Superb attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated quantitative analytical skills
  • A desire to learn and grow in marketing
  • A comfort level in dealing with ambiguity
  • Ability to work well with a wide variety of functional disciplines
  • Strong computer literacy with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (Microsoft office suite)
  • Travel is required.

TRADE MARKETING AND STEWARDSHIP

Our long time AG Industry client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search of an experienced Trade Marketing and Stewardship individual for this IMMEDIATE DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY!


SALARY - $70-90K

BENEFITS - Excellent Benefits

LOCATION - Modesto


This position will be responsible to educate and inspire commodity usage with manufacturers, traders and importers throughout the supply chain and will assist in engaging supply chain through public relations, advertising, trade shows and conferences. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the execution of all food professional public relations and advertising program tactics for North America including managing agency partner teams
  • Own the recipe library, identify recipe needs and oversee photo shoots
  • Provide guidance to regional marketing teams on content as well as other marketing and technical research-related outreach
  • Monitor relevant trade news and create monthly news briefings for staff. 
  • Create custom briefing materials (company profiles, general market updates) for senior staff
  • Lead domestic trade show projects and aid the international teams as needed
  • Travel, approximately 25% of time, both domestically and internationally


REQUIREMENTS:

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing or a closely related field preferred but MAY consider equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in food marketing or sales
  • Strong marketing and communications background
  • Skilled in communicating clearly both orally and in writing
  • Strong problem-solving skills, detail-oriented mind-set and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to foster strong relationships with stakeholders


DESIRED / A PLUS:

  • Food science or sales background
  • Marketing or sales experience in a B2B role. Added bonus if experience launching new products
  • Multitasking overachiever with a drive to succeed, passion for the food industry, and a positive attitude
