SR. ESTIMATOR - Commercial Construction

SALARY - $100-130K

Our well-established Commercial Construction client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search of an experienced Commercial Senior Estimator for this IMMEDIATE AND EXCELLENT DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY!


EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:

  • Will generate and manage estimates required for sales, pre-construction and bidding efforts.
  • Provide estimates, budget control and studies for projects and potential projects during business development, pre-construction and construction phases of a project and across all scopes, systems, and assemblies. Estimates vary from design build to full guarantee maximum price estimates to lump sum bids.
  • Ability to complete full quantity take-offs to support accurate estimates for all disciplines in commercial and public work projects including, but not limited to civil and site work, structural, concrete, finishes, mechanical, and electrical.
  • A complete understanding of the interrelationship of the cost of labor, material, equipment, and productivity in the unit costs used at each level of an estimate.
  • Collaborate with project manager to develop and maintain pre-construction and construction estimates.
  • Lead project lump sum bidding process.
  • Build estimates based on a practical understanding of design, constructability, logistics, sequencing and means and methods of a project.
  • Estimator will be a key collaborator for new and existing subcontractor relationships for estimating, bidding and project award.
  • Prepare estimate presentations, special studies, budget control reports and estimating documents for projects and client presentations.
  • Understanding of market labor and commodity conditions and impacts on construction costs.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs, variance and maintain quantity controls.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong working knowledge of construction methods, processes and management practices; excellent analytical and problem solving skills; good communication skills; and be organized, efficient and responsive to the needs of internal and external clients alike.

PURCHASING AGENT - Immediate Opening

  Our well-established Construction client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search of an experienced Purchasing Agent for this EXCELLENT DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY! Construction experience a plus but not a must!


SALARY -  $60 - $100K/YR - DOE 

BENEFITS - Medical benefits are not offered at this time.

LOCATION - Modesto  


This position would be responsible for obtaining competitive pricing for projects, fine tuning scope of work to fit each project (subdivisions). Price change orders, execute contracts for services based on each project and scope of work, execute and communicate orders for materials in a timely manner.  Help to maintain accurate cost breakdowns and budgets for projects.


Specific Duties:

  • Build and maintain list of licensed, vetted subcontractors for each trade, along with secondary contractors, always looking for new contacts.
  • Obtain and review pricing for product or services and prepare price comparisons, based on the scope of work provided.
  • Execute contracts and master agreements for each trade needed (subdivisions).
  • Execute background vetting for licensing and insurance, send and obtain Insurance policy and obtain/maintain insurance certificate for each sub.
  • Price Change orders for design team and communicate to proper subcontractor or supplier.
  • Review building plans for details, create materials lists, fine tune materials lists for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Research services and items for possible sales, such as solar, automation, etc.
  • Maintain Standards and Options list in coordination with Design Team
  • Price options and maintain option pricing lists that coincide with Standards and Options lists for each trade, structural changes, and elevation changes, etc.
  • Maintain contracts for trades with pricing and updates, price increases or decreases, provide backup for pricing with Accounts Payables.
  • Develop and maintain Contractor Binder for each subdivision with plans, segmented by trade and product specifications.
  • Compile and maintain MSDS binder for all products, listed by trade, required by OCIP WRAP.
  • Obtain, compile and maintain product and service warranties for all trades/products (new homes) 


As Needed:

  • Send out bid packages as needed, seeking competitive bids for each scope of work.
  • Obtain fees and costs related to building projects and proposals
  • Review current bid requests in Builder Trend and contact subs through Builder Trend, email or for proposal to help ensure deadlines.
  • Review Builder Trend items as often as possible for pricing or time adjustments.


Daily/Weekly:

  • Maintain subcontractor lists for accuracy and keep up to date
  • Maintain Builder Trend sub lists for accuracy and keep up to date
  • Maintain open communication with subcontractors regarding proposals, potential problems, and scope of work
  • Check for any new subcontractors for secondary contracting, and potential bid proposals for each trade.
  • Create bid packages and estimates on Builder Trend and compile and compare each trade for the best price and accurate scope.
  • Work with subdivision Superintendent in all capacities of building, scheduling, pricing and scope of work.
  • Work with Design in all capacities of pricing, product selection and specifications.


Monthly:

  • Audit DSS Reports for OCIP participants to ensure complete enrollment
  • Maintain and prepare closing (new homes) data for reporting for rebates.


Other Duties:

  • Provide support as needed to the team for: proposals, information, necessary costs and items, ordering for various projects.
