HR MANAGER - Construction

Our very well established Construction client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERSin search of an experienced Human Resources Manager for this IMMEDIATE AND EXCELLENT DIRECT HIRE CAREER OPPORTUNITY!! Construction Industry experience a MUST!


Salary - $90,000.00 to $105,000.00 Per Year

Job Location - Stockton


Collaborates with upper management for five different business units within California. Overall responsibility Human Resources, Labor Relations, Compliance and Training Development tailored to the needs for each business unit. This includes developing and planning new strategies and tactics to keep up with industry standards including; employee retention, recruiting, and labor compliance.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • HR accreditation such as a PHR or SPHR a plus.
  • Must possess knowledge of employment and labor law, human resources processes and employee relations practices normally acquired through completion of a four year degree in human resources management or a business discipline and five or more years of generalist experience.
  • Proficient math and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of conducting an investigation, research and fact finding practices


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Masters degree in Human Resources or other advanced degree in related field.
  • Ten or more years experience in Human Resources
  • HR accreditation such as PHRca (California Specific) preferred.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partners with upper management to plan, develop, implement and administer various human resources plans, policies, practices and procedures for all company personnel. This includes developing and planning new strategies and tactics in order to keep pace with changes affecting the HR fields throughout the industry.
  • Serves as a strategic business partner and provides leadership in all aspects of employee relations, value added HR services and the strategic planning process.
  • Facilitates with employees, supervisors and department heads to settle work-related conflicts through advice and recommendation, while maintaining an attitude and philosophy consistent with company standards.
  • Administers company policies as they relate to all employees. Oversees the administration of disciplinary action according to company policy to ensure its fair, equal and consistent application.
  • Formulates total compensation strategies and programs that will keep the company competitive. Manages compensation approaches such as job evaluation, salary grades, incentive eligibility, etc., assuring they are consistently applied throughout the company.
  • Manages benefit programs and oversees staffing and recruitment efforts as well as government reporting requirements.
  • Oversees or provides assistance to labor relations activities and initiatives. Ensures that operating company practices conform legally to labor agreements.
  • Manages and provides support for employee activities including new hires, benefits, performance reviews, training, terminations and transfers.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of all aspects of total rewards concepts, compensation practices, and knowledge of state and federal regulations with proven records of demonstrating project management skills.
  • Interact with other departments (payroll, safety, environmental, equipment, etc.) and managers/supervisors to establish and attain goals.
  • Leads the investigations and resolution of disputes/claims to ensure fairness and due process are delivered when employee complaints surface.
  • Leads the HR staff.
  • Travel required to Long Beach and Chico locations with overnight stays.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • HR experience as described above.
  • Construction or Union experience REQUIRED.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation  communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Able to work independently and under time constraints.
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus/benefit within various regions.

SAFETY / WORKERS COMP ASSISTANT

Salary: $14.00/hr

Location: This position is located within Stanislaus County (Modesto, Ceres, Turlock, Newman, Surrounding areas)

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.


Our well established and growing Food Processing Client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search of an experienced Safety / Workers Comp Assistant for this IMMEDIATE FULL TIME CAREER OPPORTUNITY! 


The Safety/Workers Compensation Assistant is responsible for providing support for all functions of the Safety department.  This position is also responsible for providing support in planning, organizing, and administering the company’s Workers Compensation program, including the review, reporting, and processing of claims and legal documents.  


Essential Duties:

  • Schedule annual medical evaluations as required (e.g. respiratory medical clearance, SCBA/Hazmat clearance, and annual hearing tests) 
  • Maintain data entry and electronic file system of all safety documentation
  • Assist and conduct New Hire Safety Orientation
  • Assist in maintaining Safety Data Sheets 
  • Assist Safety Specialist with development and/or update of LMS and current safety programs
  • Assist Safety Meetings (e.g. write and distribute meeting minutes)
  • Provide assistance for the Employee Safety Recognition Program
  • Provide assistance with follow-up of incident/injury investigations
  • Assist with workers’ compensation injury reports, file claims, and coordination with workers’ comp insurance adjuster, and administration of the Return to Work Program
  • Purchase safety-related equipment and maintain inventory
  • Maintain supplies for department

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years in administrative position or general clerical setting; Safety or Workers Comp a plus
  • Proficient in use of Windows, Word, Excel
  • Able to generate Excel spreadsheets

Knowledge of:

  • IFS Document Management a plus
  • Computers and Microsoft Office
  • OSHA Regulations a plus
  • Training and educating
  • Data entry
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus
