MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the maintenance and technical support to the company’s assets by reducing unplanned operational outages and continually leading operational improvements insuring optimal production operations for an extremely diverse food processing facility.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage, organize, coordinate and lead daily activities of union maintenance team on multiple shifts
  • Evaluate and provide training and professional development to maintenance team
  • Support, direct, motivate and coach the maintenance staff in safe work practices resulting in zero employee injuries
  • Lead the continuous improvement of the performance within the Maintenance organization in critical areas including organizational, effectiveness, reliability, cost and colleague development
  • Ensure factory is utilizing Corporate Asset Maintenance Management program
  • Ensure factory maintenance work orders are executed with the highest standards of engineering, integrity, product Food Safety, safety and environmental protection
  • Manage preventive/predictive repairs for optimal production equipment utilization
  • Utilize predictive maintenance technologies to minimize and plan for operational maintenance
  • Coordinate with Production, Quality/Food Safety and Project departments on daily basis to resolve technical and operational issues
  • Manage R&M financial resources within the provided annual operating budget
  • Ensure availability of equipment complies with client and regulatory requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical OR Electrical Engineering OR equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Maintenance technical field in food & beverage manufacturing facility
  • In depth knowledge of food processing equipment maintenance and technology
  • Ability to provide leadership in the area of food safety and knowledge of SQF requirements
  • Analytical skills and proven problem solving skills
  • Knowledge and understanding to manage Ammonia Refrigeration systems and CAL/ARP RMP programs

This position is in charge of the overall supervision of the Maintenance division.  This would include all maintenance personnel in the department. The Maintenance Assistant Manager should be knowledgeable in all phases of maintenance.  This should include but not limited to electrical, PLC’s, mechanical machine operation, preventative maintenance, parts inventory, outside contractors, and safety, and must be able to work with Production, and all other department personnel to achieve facility quality and efficiency goals.

These positions are responsible for the care and maintenance of all property and production assets in a safe, sanitary and efficient condition and is responsible for staying up to date on new products, equipment, technology and techniques.


Maintenance Mechanic

  • Troubleshoot, operate, maintain, calibrate and repair various types of electronic, electric, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
  • Test, troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment and systems throughout the facility
  • Perform routine and major maintenance on filling, packaging and associated auxiliary equipment
  • Maintain power, process controls, electrical equipment, and control equipment
  • Assemble, install, test and maintain instrumentation, electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatuses and fixtures, using hand and power tools

  • Determine the reasons for any malfunctions of systems or components, and create a maintenance or repair plan to solve the problem.
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner maintaining high quality standards

Blowmold Maintenance Mechanic

  • Safely and proactively operate, troubleshoot, andoptimize Blowmold and support equipment
  • Meet performance targets for Blowmolding
  • Ensure proper setup of Blowmold machines
  • Monitor and adjust bottle processes to optimize bottle quality and correct defects, including the completion of hourly quality checks
  • Manage bottle silo level, merge/dump gate setup, and blower speeds
  • Routinely communicate with and coach up/down stream operators to maximize line performance
  • Execute preform and bottle changeovers
  • Maintain machine adjustment logs

Our well established and growing Food Processing Client is in search of 3 to 4 experienced Maintenance Mechanics. Food Processing or Manufacturing experience preferred.

The Maintenance Mechanics must be knowledgeable of line / equipment operations, safety, and repair. Mechanics should have intermediate level knowledge of electrical/mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Also must be committed to reaching all production requirements. This position requires the ability to work any shift as directed by Management. Must be able to work and communicate with all Supervisors, Machine Attendants, Machine Operators, Forklift Operators, and Managers, to ensure the highest possible production and efficiencies for production lines. Must be able to adjust and respond to down equipment in a timely manner as directed by management.


Essential Duties:
