FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN - Ammonia Refrigeration

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Troubleshoot pump recirculating systems and liquid transfer systems

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC III

Our well-established and growing Food Processing Client is PARTNERING with STAFFING PARTNERS in search of a Maintenance Mechanic III. Food or Beverage Industrial Maintenance experience required.


The Maintenance Mechanic must be knowledgeable of line / equipment operations, safety, and repair. The Maintenance Mechanic III should have an advanced level of knowledge to include electrical/mechanical and troubleshooting skills. Must be committed to reaching all production requirements.


Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour DOE (possibly to $43.00 per hour if all qualifications are met)

Hours: Day Shift – 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional Swing Shift – 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm

Location: This position is located within Stanislaus County (Modesto, Ceres, Turlock, Newman, Surrounding areas) Very Occasional travel to the Napa location, mileage reimbursement.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  • Understand and comply with all ISO 9001, HACCP and GMP requirements and processes
  • Has a strong command of all bottling line machinery and controls
  • Must have advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Must be able to plug into a PLC to effectively troubleshoot, correct, and modify ladder logic programs as needed to keep production running. Has the ability and interest to support full PLC program writing and testing.
  • Ability to wire and rewire control panels for line equipment.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of VFD’s and PLC controls
  • Must have advanced mechanical / electrical troubleshooting skills and understand a machine’s cycle of operation.
  • Knowledge of basic industrial electricity, 110v, 220v, and 480v, three phase power, resistance and amperage.
  • Knowledge in HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, air compressors and dryers, nitrogen generators, etc. and their repair
  • Communicate to Supervisors, Line Workers, Cellar, Quality Assurance (QA), Senior Management, and Co-workers
  • Safely trouble-shoot and repair equipment and utilize the Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO) protocol
  • Read and understand equipment manuals, drawings, electrical drawings and P&IDs
  • Report all parts used and needed for reordering to Parts Room staff
  • Work effectively and remain calm in all situations
  • Must be able to work independently at times.
  • Perform necessary change-over of the bottling line machinery and equipment in a timely manner
  • Proper and safe use of a V.O.M. (Volt. OHM. Meter)
  • Performs corrective, preventative, and routine maintenance on equipment and facility to keep them in top working condition. Supports planned overhaul work.
  • Has basic engineering knowledge and can effectively work with company engineers and external technical and engineering staff to solve problems and design solutions.
  • Must supply own hand tools and be able to carry a tool pouch weighing approximately 10 to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear company supplied uniform
  • Must maintain the maintenance turnover logbook
  • Responsible for start-up after a changeover and getting lines back to rated OEE within target time limits.
  • Basic welding skills (TIG, stick) highly desired.


JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

Two (2) year certification in automotive, marine, machining/welding, industrial electrical & controls, or aviation maintenance and troubleshooting and at least ten (10) years’ experience with demonstrated increase in responsibility and scope at the title of Senior Mechanic/Mechanic III/Industrial Electrician in a plant manufacturing environment, with preference for high-speed beverage manufacturing of sodas, wine, beer, juice or dairy products with at least 2MM units of production annually.

OR 

At least fourteen (14) years’ experience with demonstrated increase in responsibility and scope at the title of Senior Mechanic/Mechanic III/Industrial Electrician in a plant manufacturing environment, with preference for high-speed beverage manufacturing of sodas, wine, beer, juice or dairy products with at least 3MM units of production annually.

The Master Controls  Technician is responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and  troubleshooting the controls systems, specifically Programmable Logic  Controls (PLCs), that keep our operations running smoothly.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of PLCs and other control systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for PLCs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Configure, program, and integrate new PLCs and related control components.
  • Design and implement control strategies using PLC programming languages such as ladder logic and RSLogix.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve control system issues.

Requirements

DUTIES / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:


Functions:

  • Work with Equipment Manager and Shop Foreman coordinate maintenance of equipment.

HOURLY RATE:  $28.00 to $32.00 per hour DOE

LOCATION: Position is located withinStanislaus County (Modesto, Ceres, Turlock or surrounding cities)

HOURS:

  •  12 hour shifts / 4 hours OT daily 
  • Day (6:am to 6:pm) & Night (6:pm to 6:am) shift

Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes  mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for  and takes corrective action. Makes necessary corrections and running  adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Reviews  production schedule and when equipment is not scheduled for production,  changes over equipment to new sizes or performs scheduled maintenance.
  • Tests equipment to check operation. Tries out equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
  • Examines,  tests and measures product from assigned equipment for quality  specifications, using gauges and instruments, and records data on  appropriate forms. Checks for visual defects.
  • Makes preventive  maintenance check and inspections of assigned equipment, reports  findings to supervisor and takes appropriate action.
  • Analyzes and records cause of production delays on daily production report.
  • Safety  Compliance: maintain requirements for full-face respirator use, medical  evaluation, maintaining a clean-shaven face for a proper seal.

Education / Experience / Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 3 years electrical experience
  • Welding and fabrication skills (MIG-TIG-Plasma)
  • Ability to learn data entry
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must  have the ability to work different shifts and overtime. This includes  the possibility of short-term and long-term shift reassignment to match  the needs of the business.
